Lt. Jillson began his law enforcement career with the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office in January of 1990 after having served 4 years in the United States Marine Corps. While employed by the Sheriff’s Office he was assigned to road patrol duties and was also one of the agency's K-9 handlers.
He was appointed full-time to the Saratoga Springs Police Department on June 19, 1998 as a member of the patrol division. In September of 2000 then Officer Jillson was promoted to the position of Investigator within the Juvenile Aid Unit.
In 2005 he transferred to the Special Investigations Unit, where he worked with his colleagues to combat illegal drug activity in Saratoga Springs.
Inv. Jillson was promoted to sergeant in October 2006, at which time he was reassigned back to the patrol division. He held that position until February of 2009, which is when he was promoted to lieutenant.
Lt. Jillson was the day shift commander from the date of his promotion to lieutenant until October of 2013, which is when he assumed responsibility for the Investigation’s Division.
Lt. Jillson is a graduate of 252nd Session of the FBI National Academy.
