Memorial Bricks

Veteran's Walk of Honor

This patriotic program was started in 1999, featuring a sidewalk of bricks engraved with the names of local war veterans to memorialize their names in front of the Congress Park War Memorial. The walkway is an extension of this important space where the City holds patriotic dedication ceremonies and gatherings with music, various speakers and refreshments.  To date, over 2,000 bricks have been dedicated. The bricks are engraved with the Veteran's name, rank and branch of service.

Tempered by Memory

"Tempered by Memory" is a memorial constructed out of steel beams taken from the wreckage of the Twin Towers following the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The steel was assembled into the memorial by a pair of Saratoga County artists and paid for by Saratoga Arts.  The sculpture and surrounding setting at High Rock Park is another important City treasure now under the care of DPW.
