Draft 1 of the of the Unified Development Ordinance or UDO was released on January 6 for public comment. The comment period is extended to February 21, and a project timeline is available.
The documents and supplemental information related to the public draft of the UDO is available on the city website for review. Presentation materials from the pubic workshops and also the Council Meeting on February 4, can also be found on the UDO page. Comments can be submitted directly to the City Planning Staff from the UDO page. The release of the public draft (Draft-1) marks a significant step towards the completion of the City’s first UDO.
The Mayor also announced upcoming Q&A Open House sessions with city staff to be held at the Recreation Center as follows:
- Thursday, February 6 at 3:00 pm
- Tuesday, February 11 at 6:00 pm
- Wednesday, February 12 at 10 am
- Tuesday, February 18 at 5:30 pm
Looking ahead, the Mayor expects the final version of the UDO, including the text and map, to be released in the Spring for Public Hearings and for Council to receive advisory opinions from the DRC and city and county planning boards. SEQRA and the Council vote on the long-awaited UDO will be the final steps.
