Saratoga Springs, NY:  Per the State of Emergency declared on March 13th, 2020 by Mayor Meg Kelly, activation of the City of Saratoga Springs Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan has taken place and a COVID-19 Task Force has been established.

Commissioner of Public Safety Robin Dalton is leading the city’s response to the Coronavirus outbreak with Incident Commander SSFD Chief Joe Dolan and the support of the COVID-19 Task Force. The Task Force, in consultation with the City Council, shall coordinate the performance of specific emergency functions and responsibilities as outlined under the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.

Commissioner Dalton cited the Emergency Management Plan as giving the city the critical ability to respond to this viral outbreak with a ‘streamlined, efficient and direct response, letting our talented and dedicated Police, Fire/EMS professionals and Public Safety Department lead the charge.’

Mayor Meg Kelly added ‘Commissioner Dalton and I will work hand in hand to ensure the City of Saratoga Springs continues to operate, provide vital services and do city business, while every effort is made to protect the health and welfare of residents.’

Both Commissioner Dalton and Mayor Kelly stressed the city must remain vigilant in following community mitigation actions over the coming weeks to flatten the curve of COVID-19 and slow the spread from reaching our most vulnerable residents, while reducing the strain on our local health care system.

‘It is imperative that we continue to act responsibly and follow the Governor’s Executive Order, so our City can get through this challenging time united in spirit and strength’ said Commissioner Dalton, adding ‘Mayor Kelly, Chief Dolan, Chief Crooks and I will all be here by your side, communicating and leading us all towards a bright, strong and healthy future.’
