Excited to announce that the draft Natural Resource Inventory (NRI) is ready for public review and comment. To read the draft, visit the Open Space section of the City website: http://www.saratoga-springs.org/2223/Open-Space-Advisory-Committee
The purpose of the NRI is to document and describe the natural resource characteristics and environmental features of a community, utilizing text, maps and GIS data. The NRI identifies significant environmental resources and provides guidance for the protection, preservation and conservation of these resources. It can serve as a database of information to resource management and potential land use decisions.
Information and data collected as part of the NRI will be used to update the 2002 Open Space Resource Plan and assist in the development of the criteria for the expenditure of future Open Space Bond funds. The NRI also contains important data and will serve as the starting point for a future Climate Resiliency and Vulnerability Assessment.
The City is now asking for input on the draft material until July 16th. Public comments should be sent through email to Tina Carton at email@example.com
