The City Council will meet via Zoom on Thursday, September 17 at 6pm for a presentation by Camiros, the City’s consultant in creating the Unified Development Ordinance or UDO. A Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) is a tool which combines traditional zoning and subdivision regulations, along with other development standards for items such as design guidelines, stormwater management, signs or street standards into one, easy-to-read reference document.
The second draft of the UDO • Draft 2 • will be presented to the City Council by Camiros consultants, who are working remotely. The Special City Council Meeting will be held via Zoom, live streamed and recorded on the City’s website.
Draft 2 documents and maps will be available on the UDO web site prior to Thursday’s Council presentation. The Public Comment period will run through Wednesday, November 25. Additional presentations are scheduled as follows:
- September 24 at 6 p.m. for the Planning Board and Design Review Commission via Zoom
- September 29 at noon and 6 p.m. for the Public via Zoom
- September 30 at 10 a.m. for the Public via Zoom
- All sessions will be live streamed and recorded
Public workshops for Q&A will be scheduled between October 19 - 30, with meeting details to be follow.
The UDO project, which was restarted by Mayor Meg Kelly in late 2018, has completed the phases below shown in green. The schedule for the release and review of Draft 2 was delayed due to the effects of the COVID pandemic. It is anticipated that a final draft of the UDO will be presented to Council for a vote to adopt during the first quarter of 2021.
